New Features
Workflow and Step Delay Tracking (12/16/2025)
You can now explicitly mark workflows or individual workflow steps as "delayed" to track sponsor-side or other external delays that are outside your site's control. Toggle the delay status on or off as needed, and add notes when a delay starts and when it ends. This provides clear documentation of hold periods and helps distinguish between delays caused by external factors versus internal processing time.
Threaded Notes Enhancements (12/15/2025)
Replies to notes now automatically appear in workflow views where their parent note is associated—no need to manually associate each reply. When you create a reply, it appears within the conversation thread instead of jumping to the top of the page. The "Show Replies" and "See Conversation" buttons now display count indicators (e.g., "Show Replies (3)") so you know how many notes you'll see when expanding.
Workflow Panel Quick Actions (12/15/2025)
When viewing a specific workflow's tabs, you can now upload attachments and add checklists directly without leaving the workflow view. "Upload Attachment" and "Add Checklist" buttons appear in the top-right corner of their respective tabs for users with edit permissions.
Checklist Template Tracking (12/15/2025)
When adding a checklist from a template, the selector now shows how many copies of that template already exist on the study (e.g., "5 items · 2 on study"). This helps you see at a glance which checklists you've already added.
Multiple Workflow Instances (12/11/2025)
Studies now support multiple workflow instances per process. This allows for more flexible tracking when the same workflow type needs to run multiple times within a study. Charts and cards accurately display timelines and statistics across all workflow instances.
Automatic Note Status Association (12/11/2025)
Notes are now automatically associated with the study's current status (open, closed, startup, or declined) when created. This happens quietly in the background based on the study's phase at the time of note creation, providing better context for historical notes without requiring user input.
Improvements
Workflow Steps Now Display in Order (12/16/2025)
Workflow steps in the study detail view now display in chronological order based on when they occur in the workflow process. Previously, steps could appear in an inconsistent order; now they follow the proper sequence matching the milestones panel.
External View Phase-Aware Layout (12/16/2025)
When viewing a study in the external view, the Summary tab now displays a cleaner two-column layout for Open, Closed, or Declined phases, with Workflow Progress on the left and Alerts/Updates stacked on the right. The Activation Progress card is hidden when not relevant to the current phase, and the layout better fills available screen space.
Role-Based Access Control (12/10/2025)
Edit, action, and dismiss buttons throughout the application now respect user roles. Only users with appropriate permissions (project admin, collaborator, or org admin) can perform sensitive actions like editing, downloading, or dismissing mentions.
Redesigned Attachment Card (12/10/2025)
The attachment card has been redesigned with an expanded view that displays more metadata including upload date, uploader, description, and tags. Visual consistency improvements include updated icon sizes and stroke widths.
Mention Dismiss Button (12/10/2025)
Refined logic for the dismiss mention button—ancillary team mentions now require specific roles to dismiss, while personal mentions remain easily dismissible by the mentioned user.
Bug Fixes & Polish
"Request to Join" Link Fix (12/10/2025)
Fixed an issue where the "Request to Join" page for unaffiliated users was not displaying due to role handling logic. Role checks have been made more robust, and the profile avatar no longer displays for unassigned users.
