Looking Up Studies

The Lookup page allows public users to search for studies and organizations without logging in.

Accessing the Lookup Page

Navigate to /visitor or click through from the Sites directory.

No login required.

Search Modes

The Lookup page offers two search modes:

Find Study

Search for specific research studies:

  1. Select Find Study mode
  2. Choose an organization from the dropdown
  3. View available public studies
  4. Click on a study for more details

Find Organization

Search for organizations:

  1. Select Find Organization mode
  2. Use the dropdown to find organizations
  3. Select an organization to view details
  4. See the organization's public profile

The combo selector allows:

  1. Click to open the dropdown
  2. Type to filter options
  3. Select from the filtered list
  4. View results below

Search Behavior

  • Real-time filtering as you type
  • Shows matching organizations or studies
  • Clear selection to search again

What Information is Visible

Organization Information

Public organization details:

  • Organization name
  • Description
  • Type (single site/network)
  • Public contact information

Study Information

Public study information (marked as external):

  • Study title/ID
  • Basic description
  • Status
  • External-visible fields

Only information marked as external/public is visible. Internal study details are not shown.

Direct Navigation

The Lookup page supports direct links:

  • Links can include pre-selected organizations
  • Useful for sharing specific lookups
  • Data loads automatically when accessed via direct link

Click Back to Sites to return to the directory.

Request More Information

If you need more details:

  • Contact the organization through provided information
  • Request membership to the organization for full access
  • Log in if you already have an account

Limitations

Public access has some limitations:

  • View only - Cannot edit or interact with data
  • External data only - Internal information is hidden
  • No notifications - Won't receive mentions or updates
  • No personalization - Cannot save searches or preferences
