Viewing Mentions
When someone tags you in a study note, that mention appears in your Inbox. This guide explains how to view and manage your mentions.
Types of Mentions
Personal Mentions
These are notes where you were specifically tagged:
- Your name/username was mentioned in the note
- Only you see these mentions
- Count shown: Personal (X)
Team Mentions
These are notes where your team was tagged:
- A team you belong to was mentioned
- All team members see these mentions
- Count shown: Team (X)
Switching Between Personal and Team
Use the toggle buttons in the Mentions header:
- Personal button - Shows mentions where you were tagged directly
- Team button - Shows mentions where your team was tagged
The active view is highlighted with a blue background.
Understanding a Mention
Each mention displays:

| Author avatar | Profile picture of who wrote the note |
| Author name | Name of the person who mentioned you |
| Study ID | First 4 characters of the study identifier |
| Team name | (Team mentions only) Which team was tagged |
| Date | When the note was written |
| Note excerpt | Preview of the note content |
Viewing the Full Note
To see the complete note and study:
- Click anywhere on the mention row
- The study opens in an overlay panel
- You're taken directly to the relevant note
- From here you can view the full study and respond
Grouping Mentions by Study
If you have many mentions, group them for easier navigation:
- Click Group by Study in the Mentions header
- Mentions are organized under study headings
- Click a study heading to expand/collapse its mentions
- Click List All to return to the flat view
When Grouped
- Each study shows its ID and mention count
- Click the arrow or heading to expand
- Mentions within a study are listed together
- Makes it easier to address all mentions for one study at once
Dismissing Mentions
After you've addressed a mention, you can dismiss it:
- Hover over the mention
- Click the Dismiss button (X icon) in the top-right
- The mention is removed from your Inbox
INFO
- Personal mentions can always be dismissed
- Team mentions can be dismissed by ancillary team collaborators
- Dismissing removes the mention from your view only
Empty State
When you have no mentions:
- Personal: "You haven't been mentioned in any study notes yet"
- Team: "There are no mentions for your team's studies"
How Mentions Are Created
Mentions appear in your Inbox when:
- Someone writes a note on a study
- They tag you or your team in that note
- The note is saved
- The mention immediately appears in your Inbox
Responding to Mentions
After clicking a mention to open the study:
- Review the note content
- Add your own note in response if needed
- Tag others if action is required from them
- Dismiss the original mention once addressed
Best Practices
- Check daily - Review mentions regularly so nothing slips
- Dismiss when done - Keep your Inbox clean by dismissing addressed mentions
- Use grouping - Group by study when you have many mentions to process
- Respond promptly - Others are waiting for your input on these notes
